What is Joint Filling?
When most concrete floors are finished joints are either troweled (tooled) in during the finishing process or saw cut immediately following. This is done to help minimize cracking in the slab by giving the crack a predetermined space to crack if it does so. These joints can become filled with dirt and debris during the life of the floor making filing of these joints a crucial part of the finishing process. A single component, or a 2 part self leveling, polyurethane can be used to fill tooled joints. This is a non sag sealant that is moisture tolerant and available in a wide array of colors. When filling the saw cut joints a two part polyurea is used. This is pumped into the joint, overfilled slightly, and the excess is scraped off using a razor scraper. This is chemically resistant and moisture tolerant making it ideal for warehouse spaces, restaurants, grocery stores, food manufacturing facilities, and homes alike and is also available in a wide array of colors. Take a look at a few projects below to see how this can help transform your space.
