What is Polished Concrete?

Polished concrete is quickly becoming a go to flooring option for those looking for a modern and sophisticated look. We have broken down this process for you here, provided some literature and included some photos to help you understand each finish a little better.

  • Prep​

    • Grind floor and edges with 30 grit diamonds to remove carpet glue, tile mastic, thinset, etc​

    • Patch all holes and cracks evident in floor

  • ​Grind

    • Grind floor and edges with 60/80 grit diamonds​

    • Grind floor and edges with 120 grit diamonds

    • Grind floor with 50 grit transitionals

  • Polish​

    • Polish floor and edges with 100 grit resins

    • Polish floor and edges with 200 grit resins

  • Stain- If applicable​

  • ​Strengthening the Slab

  • Final Polishing​

    • Polish floor and edges with 400 grit resins​

    • Polish floor and edges with 800 grit resins

  • Finish

    • Seal Concrete throughout (2 coats)​

    • Burnish floor

  • Fall in love with your new floor!
